How did you become involved with EOCA: I have great admiration for the achievements of the Conservation Alliance in the US and felt that in Europe we lacked anything similar, the consequence being that our industry's contribution to conserving our incredible environment was at best piecemeal. So I looked at what was possible and put forward a proposal to the board of the European Outdoor Group, who thankfully saw both the need and the potential for such an organisation and agreed to finance the start up. The rest as they say (cliche warning!) is history.

Number of years in the outdoor industry: Do I have to answer this one? Errr ...... more than twenty!

What else do you promote to support conservation: What I can, when I can. I'm a member of a number of other conservation bodies, one being the John Muir Trust who I greatly admire. In addition to this I have my own habitat project which is a combination of restoring meadow land and tree planting!

Favourite wild place: Another tricky question as so many great places come to mind. If I had to pick one alone, then it would have to be Jøtenheimen in western Norway, a place where you can be in awe of nature and where you feel like a speck of dust in the greater scheme of things.

If you are an individual who loves the great outdoors and would like to support our projects, please click the donate button below. During 2017, all money donated will fund tree planting in Nepal as part of our 2 Million Tree Project.
We are hugely grateful for the support of the European Outdoor Conservation Association, without whose support we could never have realised such an ambitious project.
