How did you become involved with EOCA: Nikwax is involved with EOCA because we believe that conservation is a crucially important part of building a sustainable future for our business and our stakeholders. The Outdoor industry depends upon the naturally wild environment for its very existence, and so it makes total sense to help to conserve it.

Number of years in the outdoor industry: 35

What else do you promote to support conservation: Nikwax balances its carbon emissions by purchasing and conserving forest in equatorial regions through the World Land Trust. Nick Brown is an Ambassador for the World Land Trust.

Favourite wild place: The island of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides.
Favourite outdoor activity: Trekking in mountainous and wild regions.

Perfect day: A perfect outdoor day for me would be a day spent walking through a broad variety of environments - for example descending from altitude in the Andes, passing from cold Páramo to sweaty semi-tropical cloud forest.

EOCA-funding for the Saving Mount Everest project helped us to reduce the amount of waste and to develop a better understanding for an adequate and sustainable waste management in the National Park and World Nature Heritage Mount Everest region.
