KORS, the UK’s only specialist summer trade show for the outdoor industry, has committed through the 1% for the Planet organisation to donate 1% of its annual revenue to an environmental organisation. This year they have decided to make this donation to EOCA. In addition, they have also decided to become full members of EOCA.

EOCA was approved as a 1% for the Planet recipient in July 2011, meaning that any member company of 1% for the Planet can choose to give their 1% to EOCA. John Jansen, Acting President of EOCA said, 'This is an exciting new funding stream for EOCA. We commend KORS for the commitment they have made, and we look forward to working with them in the future. We hope that other 1% for the Planet members will follow their lead.'

Simon Brown, Trade Coordinator at KORS, added ‘We made the decision to sign up to the 1% for the Planet organisation in 2011, mindful of both the effects our business can have on the planet, and our duty as members of the outdoor community, to safeguard the environment for the future. With regards to our donation, EOCA was a logical choice for us. We are confident the work they are doing to protect wild spaces across the globe will resonate strongly with both our exhibitors and retail visitors.”

1% for the Planet inspires companies to become a part of the solution by embracing the environment as a core value and investing at least 1% of their annual revenue with sustainability-focused non-profits. They connect these companies with approved high impact environmental champions, fostering collaboration while ensuring mutual accountability.

If you are an individual who loves the great outdoors and would like to support our projects, please click the donate button below. During 2017, all money donated will fund tree planting in Nepal as part of our 2 Million Tree Project.
Both the Breathe Foundation and the Atlantic Rainforest Institute would like to take this opportunity to wholeheartedly thank EOCA for its support of this project, and its ongoing support of projects like ours across the wide spectrum that it engages in.  Without the commitment and funding from the European outdoor industry ...to assist established or start-up initiatives, many would never make it off the ground... and this [particular]  project and its roll out may never have been possible.
