Gear for the Outdoors

Welcome to the section where we take you through the main things to look out for / be aware of when choosing the gear you need to venture into the great outdoors. Everything from rucksacks, through to base layers and climbing hardware.

We are very grateful to outdoorsmagic.com, a UK website about all things outdoors, who have been instrumental in helping us put this gear guide together.

Please remember that the information included in this section is a guide only. You cannot do better than to seek technical advice in your local outdoor store, where all the staff have received training, and you can try the kit on under professional guidance.  They will be able to advise you on the best equipment / clothing for your chosen activity and the conditions you are likely to meet.

Ultimately it is your responsibility to ensure you are properly equipped for your chosen activity and the weather conditions / terrain you are likely to encounter, and EOCA cannot be held responsible either for incorrect gear, or inappropriate use of it.

If you are an individual who loves the great outdoors and would like to support our projects, please click the donate button below.
The grant from the EOCA kick started WLT’s support of a new and vital Elephant Corridor project from Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand, northern India, where local communities, currently encountering conflict with Elephants and Tigers are very keen to be relocated. As well as providing vital funding for this project the EOCA grant leveraged match-funding from another WLT donor which is testament to the importance of the EOCA’s support.
